For better and for worse, the current season of the National Football League will soon wrap up with one more week of regular play before the playoffs.
The season has been fraught with dramatic ups and downs, and a lot of it took place off the field. From Brett Favre's alleged inappropriate text message to commentators discussing the dangers of helmet-to-helmet tackles, it's been an interesting season.
But that will all come to an end when Super Bowl XLV kicks off on February 6, 2011 at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas, the drama will most likely be forgotten and it will time to celebrate one of the country's most beloved sports.
And the best way to celebrate the sport with friends is bring out the Big Green Egg grill one last time to smoke and grill some steak, chicken or burgers.
It's perfect for any type of weather, so people toasting the game in the warmer temperatures of the Southwest can enjoy the product as much as those who live in the snow-covered Northeast. The downside? After the game you'll have to wait till the summer to use the grill to celebrate professional football.

New Year's Eve is approaching, which means it's time to say goodbye to another year and welcome the new one coming around the corner.
It's a time for celebration, to gather with friends and, for the incurably optimistic, perhaps a chance to find that special someone before midnight.
But a proper party to cast off 2010 has to be done up in style, and this means creating the right kind of atmosphere. One element that shouldn't be overlooked is incorporating brown wire light sets in your party decor.
The inexpensive lighting will create the perfect mood for whatever party you have planned. It works for quieter, more intimate gatherings where a couple bottles of wine are shared among friends, as well as a more raucous event that will have music blaring till 1 a.m.
In terms of placement, most people drape the lights over curtains or doorways, which allows the sets to light up an entire room. However, some people have also wrapped the lights around a particular piece of furniture or object in the house, giving the party a more contemporary look.

For men, asking the women they love to marry them may be among the most intense and stressful experiences of their lives.
Everything has to be perfect, from the rings to the speeches they plan to use as they get down on one knee.
One of the most popular days for men to pop the question is New Year's Eve. Those who will be proffering a ring on the big night should aim to set the mood in an intimate space, as opposed to trying to find a private moment in a restaurant or a bar on one of the most festive nights of the year.
Setting up brown wire light sets around one's apartment, condo or house is a great way to create a romantic atmosphere, especially when it's coupled with an appropriate song playing on an iPod or MP3 player.
Be sure to drape the lights all around the room and use doorways or curtain rods to ensure they cover the entire area. Then, after the hard part, the newly engaged can feel free to slowdance in the room with the lights.

'Tis the season for … trash.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that American households generate 25 percent more garbage between Thanksgiving and New Year's.
All of the additional decorations, food, wrapping paper, packaging and other garbage that ends up in our trash cans during the holidays amounts to an extra 1 million tons of trash each year, according to CNN.
While many Americans are finding ways to cut down on the trash they generate by reusing and recycling, for others there simply is no way around all of the extra garbage this time of year, especially when hosting get-togethers for friends and family members.
The key to keeping trash under control is to have a good trash can, like a Brabantia bin.
Brabantia bins come in several different varieties, including pedal bins that operate on a heavy duty pedal mechanism that closes softly and creates an odor-proof seal, touch bins that open with a simple touch of the lid, slide bins that feature a lid that slides and pivots back and away from the access point in front and new sensor bins that open when you approach the lid.
These stylish waste bins are available in different sizes for different rooms in the home, as well as different colors and finishes to match any décor.

Celebrating the holidays with friends and family can often result in a lot of trash.
Between wrapping paper, packaging materials, food scraps, disposable cups and plates as well as general everyday household trash, many people will accumulate more garbage than usual over the next few weeks.
Adding to this excess of rubbish is the fact that many communities will have delayed, altered or cancelled trash pick-ups due to the holiday, meaning that the garbage will be around longer.
While some are preparing for their holiday celebrations by stocking up on food and beverages, it's also important to ensure an adequate supply of bin liners to contain the extra trash.
Brabantia bin liners are high-quality, drawstring trash bags.
These bin liners come in five different sizes to accommodate any waste bin: 5L, 12L, 20L, 30L and 50L. Each Brabantia bin contains a color-coded sticker inside the lid to let you know which of the five liner sizes you need.
Individuals expecting crowds for the holidays may consider purchasing additional bin liners prior to their get-togethers to account for an increase in garbage. Better to be safe than sorry!

Most insurance policies stipulate that homeowners are responsible for keeping their properties in good repair, according to Insurance Times and Investment News.
Although cleaning your home's gutters is certainly not high on many homeowner's lists of enjoyable tasks, damaged caused by clogged gutters may not be covered by insurance policies.
"If damage is directly attributed to low standards of basic maintenance, your insurance claim, or a portion thereof, could be rejected," insurance expert Michael McCann told the news source.
Built up leaves and debris in most guttering systems can cause water to sit, or worse yet, overflow onto areas around the foundation of your home or through cracks in fascia board.
This can result in a variety of costly problems including mold, rot, insect infestation, flooded basements, cracked foundations, mildew, foul smells and more, according to HowToCleanGutters.com.
Installing GutterBrush Gutter Guards is a simple, cost-effective solution that will eliminate the need to clean your gutters.
The product is made of stiff polypropylene bristles that are held together by galvanized steel.
GutterBrush works by blocking and catching debris inside its bristles.
Installation is as simple as sliding the gutter brush into cleaned gutters.
These products come with a 25-year guarantee and can be used with any type of gutter including copper, PVC, aluminum, galvanized or stainless steel.

Recent research within the pest management field has revealed that the Leaf Defier gutter protection system can help to protect your home from insect infestation.
According to PCTOnline.com, Leaf Defier prevents all forms of pests from entering the gutter cavity, including insects like mosquitoes that breed in standing water or carpenter ants that can build nests in the moist wood caused by clogged gutters.
Other benefits of installing Lead Defier include improving stormwater management and enhancing building durability by allowing water and fine particulates to flow freely through gutter systems while keeping leaves and other debris out.
This easy-to-install product consists of a foam insert that prevent leaves, sticks and other debris from clogging gutters for up to 25 years. As a result, water flows readily through the foam filter insert, into the gutter valley and out the downspout to virtually eliminate overflows.
Leaf Defier gutter protection systems were also recently awarded the "Green Buildings Product Seal" from Green-Buildings.com.
The firm's evaluation process found that "by helping to reduce clogged gutters, reducing or eliminating standing water and improving water flow through the gutter system, Leaf Defier may provide a critical line of defense against foundation failure and other quality issues that may be caused by moisture problems in buildings."

During the holidays some people may feel the need to stand out, to be unique in a season when so many shop at the same stores to decorate their homes.
However, with a little creativity and courage, a simple move could help your party be the one that is remembered among your friends and family.
Using brown wire light sets is a great way to set a room apart, but not just by draping them on the wall or around the windows. Instead, take the idea a little further and drape the lights over a piece of furniture or even a tall wine rack.
This will allow whatever is wrapped in the lights to glow and will provide the party with a different and unique centerpiece for people to gaze upon.
However, don't over do it. Choose one, maybe two items to wrap the lights in and then let it be. Too many lights may over stimulate your guests.
This is the season for hanging lights on various things, so take advantage while you still can.

Finding a vacuum that performs well and holds up to the general wear and tear of regular use can be a challenge. After all – most vacuum companies use clever marketing tactics to lead consumers to believe that their products are superior to all others.

The Miele Neptune won the top spot on the list, scoring 9.6 out of 10 by consumers who praised its quiet operation and powerful suction.
