White Christmas lights are the quiet, serene answer to the colorful and hard-to-miss accessories of the holidays. Rather than draping a house in showy, blindingly bright rainbows of flashing and blinking lights, they offer a soft overall glow, not unlike thousands of tiny candles. White Christmas lights won’t clash with a house’s existing color or decor, and look absolutely breathtaking when turned on just after a snowfall, where they will reflect beautifully off of the carpet of snow in your yard and on your roof.
Long after the holidays are over, white Christmas lights can be pressed into service as home decor, especially on porches and patios. Unlike their colorful counterparts, they do not immediately bring to mind the holidays when seen in Spring, Summer, or Fall. This makes them ideal when used as fun and whimsical lighting that invites guests to linger for conversation and cocktails. Certain individual light coverings can also be purchased to transform an ordinary white Christmas lights set into anything from small glowing lobsters to chili peppers to elegant miniature Japanese lanterns that glow delightfully.
If you are planning to use white Christmas lights as decor, in season or otherwise, it’s important to follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions. While new smaller models of Christmas lights might not put off as much heat as their larger vintage cousins, it is still important to keep them from touching flammable objects like curtains. Keep a few spare Christmas light bulbs in a junk drawer in care of burn-outs: a single bulb dying won’t take out the whole string in newer models, but several could impact the integrity of the light string. Once you’ve plugged them in and hung them where you’d like, just kick back and enjoy the soft glimmer of these peaceful pieces of decor – they’ll put you in a jolly mood no matter what month it may be.

Christmas lights add a festive touch to the holiday celebrations of many families. In fact, the twinkling lights create such a beautiful display that some people are loathe to take them down once the Christmas season is over.
Fortunately, there are many different ways of recycling Christmas lights and integrating the twinkling bulbs into year-round decor.
Some people choose to add ambiance to their outdoor eating area when recycling Christmas lights. Strands of white or colored bulbs can be draped across a pergola on a patio in order to create a lively mood for outdoor celebrations. The lights can be left off when the mood is less festive, and turned on for special occasions.
Another method of recycling Christmas lights is to use them for a grand celebration such as a wedding. White bulbs in particular are quite appropriate for weddings. Some brides prefer the interior of the church to be adorned with these lights while other brides may wish to restrict their usage to reception area decor.
In addition, consider recycling Christmas lights by using them to decorate indoor space, such as bedrooms. Children, in particular, delight in extravagant, whimsical bedroom decor. Creating a web of tiny lights, suspended from their bedroom ceiling is sure to make any child more eager to spend some quiet time in their room. If only a few Christmas lights are used, the strand can serve as a nice night light for the child.
With the many opportunities for recycling Christmas lights, there’s no need to relegate the strands to the attic between Christmas seasons. Think creatively and your Christmas lights can become a year round fixture in your home. And just think, you won’t even have to untangle the lights when the next Christmas season rolls around!

When stringing Christmas lights for the holidays, few people stop to think about the potential for a large utility bill at the end the season or, even worse, the possibility those illuminating bulbs could be a fire hazard. If the traditional, incandescent lights are being used, either of those scenarios is possible. That’s why more people are making the switch to light emitting diode (LED) Christmas lights. By using a tiny piece of semi conductor material, LED Christmas lights forego the gas-filled bulb or tube to produce light. This allows them to be more efficient, durable and safer. For example, an LED light will use 1-3 kilowatt hours of energy, while an incandescent version will burn 12-105 kilowatt hours of energy. LEDs also burn much less hot, making them less of a hazard, and last longer.
While LED Christmas lights come in a variety of colors, white adds a simple, elegant touch to holiday decorating. There is also a wide range of shapes and designs, allowing creativity to shine during the season. In addition to the traditional LED white Christmas lights that are strung together, snowflake shaped lights can be draped around the house. The same goes for icicle lights, which come in long- or short-form and can be hung from the house or trees. White LED rope lights can be wrapped around a post or a tree or can be used to mark a pathway. Net LED Christmas lights make decorating a bush a breeze compared to stringing together several strands of lights.
White LED Christmas lights add a touch of elegance and simplicity to holiday decorating while also having the bonus of using less energy and staying cooler when in use. Their many designs, combined with the white lights, can reflect the snowfall and enhance any wintry scene.

One cannot help but be transported to the magical world of Christmas by a tree adorned with what appears to be the brilliant stars of a winter night. The illusion of stars is created with white Christmas lights. Strands of white Christmas lights can create a frosty winter wonderland. A home standing in the middle of the Sonoran Desert can have the appearance of snowcapped hedges and icicles hanging from the roof. The first white lights were candles on the Christmas tree. With the advent of electricity, decorations of indoor and outdoor Christmas lights have become as traditional as the tree.
Mini candles are still frequently used on Christmas trees in United Kingdom homes. Tens of thousands of homes in the United States (U.S) claim the electric light strand as the preferred choice. The first strand of electric Christmas lights in the U.S. had 80 alternating bulbs in white, red and blue. Businesses and official buildings were one of the first venues for decorating with strands of electric lights. The cost of electricity was prohibitive to the average person prior to 1930.
A scene of moving deer decorated with white Christmas lights drinking from a sparkling blue and white stream on the front lawn creates a pleasing welcome for honored quests. Cars passing by with children out on a family execursion to see homes decorated with lights are filled with the sounds of oooooooohs and ahhhhhhhhhs. The city park or plaza features a tree draped in white lights. A mantle adorned with evergreen branches sprinkled with white Christmas lights makes the roaring fire that much cozier. The buffet table decorated with white Christmas lights adds flare, sophistication and a visual treat for the eyes.
The use of indoor and outdoor Christmas lights is only limited by one’s imagination. Everything from snowcapped Saguaros to dazzling star studded trees are within the realm of possibilities with some strands of white Christmas lights.

Families across the country go to great lengths to celebrate the holidays. Christmas trees are decorated, cookies are baked, and miniature lights are strung up around the house to broadcast the festive spirit to friends and neighbors. As soon as the holiday season is over, many people scramble to pack up their decorations and take down their tree, unaware that those white wire Christmas lights can still come in handy throughout the year.
White wire Christmas lights can liven up any living space in any season. Instead of removing them immediately after Christmas, families can use them for different holidays by making slight modifications. For Valentine’s Day, red ribbons could be tied on a string of white lights for a romantic look. When Halloween comes around, black and orange ribbons could add a spooky feel. With a little creativity, the white lights could also reflect off different kinds of black or orange materials, creating a ghastly glow. The wire that links the lights together is the perfect width for hanging decorations for any holiday, and the white color won’t clash with other color schemes. From shamrocks in March to American flags in July, white wire Christmas lights are the perfect addition to any holiday décor.
Christmas lights can also add a little sparkle to a backyard or pool area. When strung up around the perimeters of a yard, they create a glow that almost compels families to spend time together outside. They provide soft, glowing light for a nighttime swim, and they also come in handy for outdoor parties. When a normal light would be too bright for outdoor use, white wire Christmas lights can add just the right amount of light without distracting guests from the other decorations and scenery.
Christmas lights are usually on sale immediately after the holidays, and stocking up on them at this time could be a great decision for any family that loves to celebrate holidays, seasons, and special events. White lights retain their elegance throughout the year, and they are the perfect last-minute decorating touch for holidays, parties, and outdoor celebrations.

White wire Christmas lights are ideal for all kinds of decorations because the wires themselves do not stand out. The main problem with traditional lights is that the dark wires are ugly and unappealing. They were designed for use on a Christmas tree, which is why the wires are green. That makes sense. The problem is that people have expanded the uses so that the lights are also used as decorations around the home. The green color no longer works in the way that it was designed to work. You need to purchase white wire Christmas lights so that your decorations are beautiful no matter where they are.
One of the best ways to use these white wire Christmas lights is to hang them where the walls meet the ceiling, wrapping around the entire room. These provide an elegant sort of lighting that is not so bright all in one place; a hanging light can be blinding if you look right at it, but it can then leave shadows in the corners of the room. The white wire Christmas lights will provide much more even lighting. Not only will they make the whole room seem festive, they will be very functional in a practical sense as well.
Another idea is to use them to wrap the lampposts of your other lights. You will just need to plug the string of white wire Christmas lights in on the ground near the lamp — this should be easy since the lamp will have to be plugged in as well and so should be near an outlet. You can then wrap them up the pole, spiraling around as you go. This is very simple, but the result is stunning. When combined with the idea above, you can transform an entire room in minutes.

A new survey has found that many Americans aren't putting safety first when it comes to decorating for the holiday season.
CSA International polled more than 1,000 Americans about their holiday safety habits. The firm found that 22 percent of Americans leave their holiday lights up for at least two months, increasing the risk of fire within their homes.
In addition, 23 percent of respondents rarely or never check to see if holiday decorations have been tested and certified for safety.
Experts say individuals should carefully inspect Christmas lights for inside and outside use each year and discard any with frayed cords, cracked lamp holders or loose connections.
When choosing new light sets to replace old or damaged sets, décor experts say choosing lights based on where they'll be used is important.
Individuals who plan to string lights on white railings should consider white wire light sets to ensure a finished, elegant look. These light sets are available in sets of 10, 20, 35, 50, 70, 100 and 150 lights per strand, as well as in a variety of colors.

During the holiday season, many people turn to brown and white wire lights bring some holiday cheer to their Christmas trees. These lights, which come in a variety of colors, can add the finishing celebratory touch to a pine. However, brown and white wire lights can be used to recognize other holidays as well.
Just because Christmas is heavily recognized in the media doesn't mean that it's the only holiday worth honoring with brown and white wire lights. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or a holiday that your friends haven't heard of, there's no reason to hold back on decorating.
Brown and white wire lights may be used to line the outside of any home. They can be used to spruce up the inside of a home, too – around windows and on mantels, lights can glamorize on other holiday decor.
Experts remind homeowners to play it safe while stringing brown and white lights, regardless of how enthusiastic they may be about sharing the holiday spirit. Feeding lights through windows and door ways might create hazards that will lead to trips and falls, so string responsibly and be mindful of guests' safety.

Kristen Day of The Daily Reflector recently served up helpful tips for hosting Thanksgiving festivities.
Aside from the preparations for a turkey and side dishes, she said there are other steps one must take to ensure a festive gathering. For those serving alcoholic beverages, she said that there are recipes that fit the fall theme, including a pumpkin pie beverage that requires cinnamon schnapps, coffee liqueur and Irish cream.
She also suggested the "Turkey Trot," a drink that consists of 1 cup of bourbon, 2 cups of a lemon-lime soda and 2 cups of cranberry juice.
Day recommends that each television has some form of Turkey Day entertainment on the screen. Popular selections are the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and a line-up of sports programming, including three National Football League games.
If you really want to set the mood, Day suggests making a music mix that consists of songs with "thanks" as the theme. Examples include "Thank You Too" by My Morning Jacket, "Thank You Girl" by The Beatles and "I Wanna Thank You" by Darius Rucker.
Lighting is a key element to setting the appropriate ambiance for a large gathering. White wire Christmas lights come in sets of 10, 20, 35, 50, 70, 100 and 150 lights per strand, and they are available in a variety of colors.
Christmas is just around the corner, so there's no need to take down the white wire lights after Thanksgiving. Thus, you'll have more time to focus on other yuletide decorations.
