With winter quickly becoming a distant memory and the promise of summer buzzing in the air, now is the perfect time to think about decorating your home for this new season. Summer is a time of being outdoors, enjoying the weather and being more active outside. Create a cozy space for you and your family to enjoy on your back porch or in your yard to encourage less screen time and more fresh air time.
Something I’ve always enjoyed doing to make summer evenings cheerful and inviting is stringing up lights around the house. Brown wire lights, as opposed to traditional Christmas lights, are a simple and creative way to provide soft, intimate lighting for when your household is unwinding from the day’s activities. Using brown wire instead of the traditional holiday green wire takes the Christmas feel out of your decoration so that it fits your summer activities.
I personally prefer the brown wire lights over the typical green wire lights because the brown wire blends in more with the interior of my home. Where the green wire lights can sometimes contrast and call attention to their surroundings, I find the brown wire lights compliment my home décor. What I also like about our brown wire lights is how practical they can be.
Before we put up brown wire lights in our home, our porch was lighted only by an overhead halogen bulb and what luminance came from indoor lights. After we put up our brown wire lights, our space was transformed into a cozy haven, full of the sounds of family and friends. The light set the mood and our activities followed naturally, allowing us to finally relax into the warm weather.

If you suffer with allergies or upper respiratory problems then you know how irritants in the air can cause you to feel even worse. When this happens too often, it’s probably a good time to shop for Airfree purifiers. Shopping for one perfect purifier among the many different Airfree purifiers is an important activity because your comfort is at hand. Airfree purifiers will make your life much easier and much healthier by eliminating the allergens that are making you miserable.
The Airfree purifiers actually sterilize the air making it better for you to breathe and letting you breath fresh air without contaminants. There are different types of these purifiers and each one may offer something unique. Depending on their capacity and size the price range varies for each one. For instance, there are Airfree purifiers that have a capacity of 450 sq. ft. which is a smaller model. The next size is a 550 sq. ft. capacity and another is even larger with a 650 sq. ft capacity. No matter what the capacities are for each purifier, they all are built to clean your air and eliminate viruses, dust mites, mold spores, pet dander, bacteria, allergens of all kinds and ozone, since all of these Airfree purifiers are ozone-free.
These purifiers are even attractive enough to have in any room in your home. The most common colors are black, white or silver. Another great feature of all of these is that they are so quiet that you can have a normal conversation in the room. For your convenience there is no need to change a filter and it never needs any maintenance. This is a worthwhile addition to your home to keep everyone healthy and happy.

Airfree purifiers take a new approach in the battle against airborne germs. Instead of using ultraviolet light to kill the germs like other air purifiers do, these units use heat to do the job. The sterilizer is well insulated and doesn’t cause any appreciable increase in the room’s temperature, so it’s not considered a fire hazard and is quite safe to use.
The unit is small and dome-shaped with a vent in the top. Air is drawn in through the bottom and passes into an intake chamber. From there the air goes into the heating chamber, where its temperature is raised to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, which is hot enough to kill any kind of bacterium, virus or mold that’s likely to be there. From here the air passes into a cooling chamber, where it is lowered to a comfortable room temperature. The purified air is then blown out through the vent in the top of the dome.
Airfree purifiers are perfect for both the home and hospital environment. Given the alarming growth of harmful germs in the clinical setting in recent years, there is an obvious need for small, portable air purification units like this. Airfree sterilizers can be moved from place to place and provide quick air purification in problem spots, augmenting the building’s regular air system. In a home setting, just one sterilizer can make a big reduction in the number of airborne germs in an average-size room.
Airfree purifiers are a relatively new product, but they have a great track record so far. The Allergy Buyers’ Club picked Airfree sterilizers as the top air purifiers in the US in 2003 and the Airfree company boasts of abundant certification by the ISO, Underwriters’ Laboratories and the European Community.

“How low can you go, how low can you go?” If this phrase sounds familiar, it’s because it’s from Ludacris’ hit song off his “Battle of the Sexes” Album. The premis of this article is not to ask you how low you can go on the dance floor, but how low your vacuum can go? Many times it is difficult to get your vacuum to work its way underneath and around all your furniture in you home. This results in you having to slide furniture around, or worse yet skip vacuuming those hard to sweep areas.
That’s not the case with Miele Upright Vacuums. Miele’s new S7 Upright series can bend down to a complete horizontal angle. Some of the other features of the Miele Upright Vacuums include a completely sealed bag compartment along with HEPA filters on most models.
For a very long time Miele only manufactured canister vacuums, except for a couple of lower end stick uprights. In 2009, Miele introduced the Miele Upright Vacuum line complete with many of the same features as their canister line carries. Demand in the first year for these vacuums was fair, but nothing like the volume and demand for Miele Canister Vacuums.
To help push the Miele Upright Vacuum line, Miele has just dropped many of the models price points. Now you can get into a Miele Upright Vacuum for as little as $429, but if you want to get all the bells and whistles along with a HEPA filter you will have to pay a couple hundred dollars more. I know this may sound like a lot of money for a vacuum sweeper, but all Miele Vacuums regardless of price point come with a 7 year motor warranty and tend to last for 15-20 years. How long did your last vacuum last?
You might pay more for a Miele Vacuum up front, but over the long haul Miele vacuums will most likely cost you much less than many of the alternatives.

Selecting a personal defense spray can be difficult. Before we get into the specifics you should know that many personal defense spray companies use the word “mace” in their brand’s title. For example, at www.hardtofinditems.com we sell “Mace Brand”, but none of their products have mace in them. Most have a combination of pepper spray, tear gas and some type of dye.
Mace
Mace irritates human eyes and is very close to tear gas. Actual mace, not the brand name, was taken off the market about 15 years ago after police officers found out that it was ineffective against humans under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The name Mace is still the most common term used for personal defense sprays, despite it not actually having “mace” in the contents.
Pepper Spray
Pepper Spray is an inflammatory agent that will incapacitate a person for 15 minutes to 1 hour. Pepper Spray causes coughing, choking, nausea, dilation of the capillaries causing temporary blindness, swelling of the mucus membranes causing trouble breathing and burning of the eyes!
Many of the personal defense sprays on the market today have pepper spray in their mix or only contain pepper spray, because it is effective against anyone, including people under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
Tear Gas
Tear Gas’ effects are immediate and very powerful. It is comprised of white crystals suspended in a delivery medium, usually sec-butanol along with various other chemicals. Tear Gas causes the eyes to immediately shut and start to tear up along with repeated coughing to try to protect against the extreme burning of the eyes and mouth.
Which “Mace” or Personal Defense Spray should I buy?
While we carry a wide variety of products to meet almost anyone’s needs, the most effective and popular sprays are the ones that combine the benefits of pepper spray and tear gas. Pepper Spray works against people under the influence of drugs and alcohol and incapacitates individuals for up to 1 hour. Tear Gas has a stronger, quicker effect. Combined they provide a very powerful mixture.
Most sprays also include a dye or gel. The main purpose of this is to allow the user to see where they are spraying the product, improving accuracy. We also carry a pepper gel which clumps up and sticks to the eyes, increasing the effects of the spray.
If you’re looking for a general all purpose spray I would recommend the Triple Action Pepper Spray. If you looking for something with a more specific purpose we have a jogger pepper spray, a muzzle spray, and a larger home mace spray. Plus for those that don’t feel comfortable with a spray or want additional protection we do carry a screecher alarm, a flasher light with arm band for joggers and an emergency whistle.
A couple of final points
All mace or personal defense sprays do have a shelf life. When you purchase the product it will have an expiration date listed, which is generally about 2 years. Finally, the sale of certain types of pepper sprays and other personal defense sprays are restricted in a few states. These states are shown in each of our product listings.

With airlines instituting fees for overweight bags, many companies have started to produce luggage scales. We decided to sell Taylor’s Digital Luggage Scale, because Taylor is a leading manufacturer of scales for all types of applications.
Check out our video demonstration! It’s amazing how easy and accurate this scale is. Most of the other scales on the market don’t seem to measure up because they either don’t provide a digital reading, are made cheap, or are not as easy to use. Stick with a name you can trust.
On SALE: $17.97 Reg: $19.99
