Steam cleaners have become one of the most versatile cleaning tools on the market that hold numerous household uses. Steam can kill bacteria such as E. coli, listeria and salmonella and will only use water instead of harsh chemicals making it the healthiest option for home cleaning, according to Earlex.com.
A steam cleaner works by helping to remove the adhesive that allows dirt and grime to stick to all kinds of surfaces. The heat will break this seal and allow the unsightly dust to be removed with a dry cloth. Steam cleaners are a cost-effective way to clean dirty surfaces and clothing throughout the home, as they only need water to operate and can help with your laundry care.
The Haan HS-20 Deluxe Personal Sanitizing Steam Cleaner is a handheld variant that will allow yout clean upholstery, curtains, clothing and other surfaces with ease. The device carries an extended nozzle for hard-to-reach areas, a garment attachment for clothing and a rubber squeegee for window cleaning.
Steam cleaners such as the HS-20 are perfect for unconventional areas such as grill surfaces or removing months of caked on grime from bicycles or dirt bikes. All in all, steam cleaners are an invaluable appliance for laundry care and other household applications.

Many Americans love supporting a domestic product that’s cheaper and more effective than the competition. Add to that an unrelenting dedication to the environment, and you have an unbeatable product: Charlie’s Laundry Soap.
Available in liquid or powder form, Charlie’s Soap is made of coconut-based, biodegradable ingredients. It’s especially useful to those who are working in an active field such as construction, food service, or sanitary industries.
Chemical-based detergents often dissolve part of the fabric and fade the color of a garment, but Charlie’s Soap simply breaks down the smell and stain, leaving a light, pleasant scent behind. It will often even refresh clothes, making them softer and fluffier.
Environmentally conscious couples with young children who are still in diapers may also find that Charlie’s Soap can work out the odors of cloth diapers that are usually left lingering by competitors.
Only small amounts of Charlie’s Soap are necessary for it to be effective, so you will also notice a dramatic difference in your savings.
It is often very difficult to not sacrifice results when working to save money and energy but, in the case of Charlie’s Soap, you will find that this isn’t the case at all – it’s cheaper, more effective, and good for the environment.

Many individuals have nice clothes that become wrinkled and need to be ironed, so just about everyone is familiar with the pains of the ironing board.
The majority of boards are thin and narrow, which means you have to constantly move around sharp edges to get at different parts of your garments while the iron radiates heat and steam into your face. Then, when you need to fold it again, it’s almost always a constant battle with a cumbersome mechanism that never seems to work.
If this sounds familiar, it’s time to get an ironing board made by Brabantia. These ironing boards are specifically designed to stay in place as you iron. The broad, flat surface prevents clothes from slipping off and also enforces stability. There’s also a child lock to keep the legs in place and another sturdy lock that keeps the ironing board folded when you put it away.
Brabantia ironing boards are adjustable to four different heights, from 2.3 feet to 3.1 feet.
Some Brabantia models have metal rests attached underneath the boards for hot irons, which make ironing a less sweaty and more pleasant activity.

Traditional laundry detergents are full of harsh chemicals that can make you itchy or make you sneeze. The acrid contents of these cleaners can also break down colors and fabrics.
Nellie’s laundry care products are hypoallergenic, biodegradable and natural. That means that Nellie’s laundry soda is ideal for washing cloth baby diapers or the clothes of those who have sensitive skin or allergies. It will also preserve the color and fabric of everything that goes through the wash, making materials softer and helping them last longer.
Nellie’s drier balls and pvc-free drier balls are also helpful for anyone looking to save money, time and the environment all at once. Those who just toss the drier balls into a load of laundry, may find that drying can take up to 25 percent less time.
Usually, a washing or drying machine will rob new towels and sheets of softness and absorbency, but Nellie’s drier balls will prevent that from happening.
The pvc-free drier balls are free from the harmful material which may damage both humans and the environment in production, use and disposal. Their unique shape also promotes a drying process that will leave clothes less wrinkled and static-free.
All in all, Nellie’s laundry care products are just as effective, for just as much money, for much better results. And, of course, you’ll be saving the environment as you save your cash.

Laundry detergents are usually anything but natural, it’s easy to know that just by smelling them. The chemicals in these detergents makes fabrics deteriorate, colors go dull and cause skin irritation and itching for people with more sensitive skin, even exacerbating allergies.
In 1976, Charlie Sutherland Jr. worked with his brother-in-law to create a specific cleaner for the oil and grime of yard spinning machines. That small business flowered into a whole line of cleaning products, one of which is Charlie’s Soap.
This all-natural laundry detergent comes in a powder or liquid, both of which are biodegradable, and does just as good of a job, if not better, at erasing stains and smells from dirty clothes. It won’t make colors fade as quickly or leave a build-up, either, and the powder is cheaper than chemical laundry detergents.
New parents may be especially interested in Charlie’s Soap. Its gentle solution is far better for babies than the harsh chemicals of other detergents – ammonia and phosphorous, to name a couple – which can sometimes result in rashes.
This formula has been around for a few decades and is still going strong. We highly recommend Charlie’s Soap to anyone looking to do laundry for cheaper, without running the risk of wearing itchy clothes afterwards.

If you have been considering a Brabantia Rotary Dryer, but are not sold yet, I believe my cost analysis of running an electric or gas dryer will put you over the top. While some individuals may be considering buying a drying rack to completely replace a electric or gas dryer, most individuals are buying them to complement their current dryer.
How much does it cost to run an electric or gas clothes dryer?
Although there are a lot of variables that can effect the overall cost of running a dryer, we can get a good estimate by using some average numbers for cost of energy and the amount of time a typical family uses a clothes dryer each year.
Average cost of running a dryer: 5,000 watts (5 Kilowatts)
Average cost of electricity: $0.10 kilowatt/hour
Average number of hours running your dryer/week: 5
If we take the above assumptions, the cost per week of running a dryer would be 5 Kilowatts X $0.10 Kilowatt/hour = $0.50 X 5 hours of usage = $2.50/week X 52 weeks = $130! Wow! Granted most individuals may not be able to totally replace their electric dryer, but the cost savings of using a drying rack adds up quickly.
Let’s look at what a quality Brabantia Rotary Dryer Costs.
Brabantia Top Spinner Drying Rack: $104.50 and ships for Free
Brabantia Lift O Matic: $136.00 and ships for Free
Brabantia Wall Fix: $142.80 and ships for Free
Cost Analysis
As you can see, even if you only replace half of your electric/gas drying with a rotary dryer, you can pay for the drying rack in about two years! If you’re still reading, I must have your attention. I encourage you to check out our full line of Brabantia Drying Racks.

Traditional laundry detergents are filled with a long list of chemicals, including, but not limited to: phosphorus, ammonia, phenol, and sodium nitilotriacetate. When clothes are washed with chemical laundry detergents they leave a residue behind in the fabric. This can cause many individuals with sensitive skin to suffer from itching, rashes, irritation, allergies, and sinus problems. Natural detergents, such as Charlie’s Soap, leaves no residue behind making it ideal for anyone with sensative skin.
Will a Natural Laundry Detergent Clean My Clothes as Well as a Chemical Laundry Detergent?
Yes! In fact natural laundry detergents can actually clean better than many chemical laundry detergents. Traditional laundry detergents use scents and brighteners to cover up stains and odors. Natural laundry detergents don’t use any cover-ups, they just clean!
One of the most popular and effective natural laundry detergents available is Charlie’s Soap. Charlie’s laundry powder and liquid are made from a unique blend of biodegradable coconut-based detergents and a high-grade, soluble, green river washing soda. This formula does an amazing job of cleaning up even the worst of odors and soiled stains, even garbage men/women’s clothing!
Charlie’s Laundry detergent is hypoallergenic, leaves no residue, is biodegradable and HE compatible. If that wasn’t enough to convince you, Charlie’s Laundry powder costs a fraction/load compared to traditional laundry detergents. For individuals that prefer liquid detergents Charlie’s Soap is available in liquid form.
FYI – Charlie’s Laundry Powder can be used with front loading HE washing machines, but it must be added directly to the clothes. Although, the liquid form is always an option for front loading HE washing machines.
